The centrist Bareunmirae party floor leader Oh Shin-hwan has stressed the importance of responsible politics.
During his policy speech at the National Assembly, Oh highlighted the nation's sluggish economic figures, calling the current situation an economic disaster.
He called for the government to focus on revitalizing the market through regulatory and labor reforms.
He also strongly opposed the ruling party's plan to install an independent unit to probe corruption allegations by high-ranking public officials, claiming that it will only create another organization that holds massive power under the government.
On North Korea, Oh also pointed out that the Moon Jae-in administration is too focused on solving the issue through dialogue, stressing that South Korea should change its policies to those that could focus on its goal of denuclearizing North Korea.
