Travelers from S. Korea to Japan down 14.6% y/y in Q3 amid souring Seoul-Tokyo ties
  • 4 years ago
The number of Koreans traveling to Japan has fallen over the last three months... amid the tensions between the two countries.
Data by the transport ministry showed the figure in the thrid quarter was down nearly 15 percent on-year.
The fall comes as South Koreans are boycotting Japan to protest against Tokyo's trade restrictions on Seoul.
Korean travelers to other countries - mostly in Southeast Asia - increased 13 percent over the same period.
