Seoul metro labor union calls off three-day strike at last minute

The Seoul Metro Labor Union called off its originally planned three-day strike as it reached an agreement with Seoul Metro on Wednesday morning.
The two sides agreed a 1-point-8 percent wage increase for 2019 and decided to propose increasing the number of security staff to the Seoul Metropolitan Government.
Regarding the demand to repeal a clause that would prevent previously agreed wage increases... which was the main reason for the strike, both parts agreed to hold further discussions.
Following the last-minute deal,... subway trains are expected to run normally this week.
