President Moon Jae-in has asked Prosecutor-General Yoon Seok-yeol to draw up a plan for his own agency's reform one that will win the prosecution the trust of the people.
Yoon's proposals would complement those of the Justice Minister.
Here's the President.
"I also call on the Prosecutor-General. I ask that he listen to a range of public opinion and draw up measures that will help the prosecution gain the people's trust by gathering different opinions from young prosecutors, female prosecutors and prosecutors from the detective and trial departments."
President Moon said this while receiving a briefing today from Justice Minister Cho Kuk... on *his reform plans.
The President wants prosecutorial reform to begin immediately after the investigations surrounding Minister Cho are concluded.
He urged the two sides to work together the Ministry of Justice focusing on legal reforms,... and the prosecution on changing how it exercises its powers
The chief prosecutor Yoon, however, was not at the meeting.
