The chairman of South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff will be in the U.S. next week to attend a change of command ceremony for his U.S. counterpart.
General Park Han-ki will meet both the outgoing General Joseph Dunford and the incoming General Mark Milley to discuss the Seoul-Washington alliance and the situation on the Korean Peninsula.
The U.S. will also organize a trilateral meeting with Park's Japanese counterpart, Koji Yamazaki, after the event.
This will be the first time the top military officers of the three nations will meet since Seoul's decision in August to withdraw from its intel-sharing agreement with Tokyo.
