Beijing's new Daxing International Airport formally opens its doors

China’s new Daxing International Airport in the capital Beijing formally opened for business on September 25, 2019.   President Xi Jinping oversaw the official launch of the new aviation hub days before China celebrates its 70th anniversary on October 1. Iraqi-born British architect Zaha Hadid designed the unique starfish-shaped aviation hub before her death in 2016.
