Work Emails: Putting Your Superior in Copy is Counterproductive
  • 5 years ago
Would putting in copy your superior in your emails be counterproductive? This is what a study published by the Harvard Business Review states, considering that this practice should be quickly forgotten! Including your supervisor in each of your professional exchanges with your employees would create a constant feeling of being under surveillance. This stress would then promote the "culture of fear", in other words, employees constantly feel afraid of their superiors. This feeling would be particularly harmful to establishing healthy working relationships! In addition, to put in copy one's superior, shows a lack of confidence in one's own reliability! The recipients would therefore be more likely to question the employee's credibility.... It would be a very bad idea to put in copy supervisors. This practice would harm the work environment!
