Weddings cancelled, hundreds of thousands of travelers stranded at airports around the world, more than 21-thousand jobs up in smoke... ALL down to the world's oldest travel firm declaring bankruptcy.
Thomas Cook's collapse follows years of mismanagement, enormous debt and a failure to secure an emergency loan package from its creditors.
Despite the British government's denials, analysts say Brexit also didn't help.
The Brexit process led British customers to delay their holiday plans for the summer.
Its customers and tourists are shocked by the 178-year-old company's demise.
"Very very sad for what's happening for all the Thomas Cook employees and everyone is doing what they can but it's really disappointing that the holiday has to end like this."
"We've been given no information at all by anybody. We've just been brought to the airport late and we're now told that we might not even get a seat on the plane, so I think it's really bad that no one is here to help."
The UK's Civil Aviation Authority said it would launch a repatriation effort with the government... to bring back home more than 150-thousand British travelers over the next few weeks.
