One person dies from suicide every 40 seconds: WHO

Marking World Suicide Prevention Day on Tuesday, the World Health Organization announced that one person dies every 40 seconds due to suicide.
According to WHO data, 800-thousand people commit suicide every year.
The WHO warned that too few countries have effective suicide prevention strategies in place.
It also explained that more than three-quarters of such deaths occur in low and middle-income countries.
According to the Korea Suicide Prevention Center, South Korea's suicide rate was 24-point-3 deaths for every 100-thousand people as of 2017,... which is nearly twice the OECD average.
