World Cup: Portugal still alive, Algeria beats Korea

In Brazil, Portugal managed to keep alive their hopes of progressing into the next round of the World Cup, while Algeria routed South Korea to close in on a last 16 berth. Silvestre Varela equalized in the dying seconds to earn Portugal a 2-2 draw against the United States in Group G. Algeria, meanwhile, opened the goal-scoring floodgates, swamping South Korea, 4-2, in a thrilling World Cup Group G game.
