MANILA - The government will not be able to finish the shelter program for survivors of supertyphoon Yolanda in the last two years of the Aquino administration. Public Works Secretary Rogelio Singson said the scope of the devastation is simply so massive government cannot make any promises. "It cannot be done in two years with the scale of the devastation there," he said. "We are doing our best to complete whatever we can do in the remaining 2 1/2 years but I cannot claim that we will finish the shelter program in 2 years." Singson also belied an Inquirer report that there was overpricing in the construction of bunkhouses for survivors of typhoon Yolanda. He said he is willing to put his job on the line. "It is not overpriced. if it is overpriced the following day I will submit my resignation to President Aquino," he said. However, he admitted some contractors may not have followed the specifications required for the bunkhouses. ANC NEWS NOW, January 6, 2013
