아마존 산불 계속 번지는데…브라질-佛, G7 지원 문제 놓고 논쟁

Fires across the Amazon rainforest continue to spew millions of tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere each day.
However, Brazil's leader rejected aid from the G7, saying certain conditions must be met first.
Kim Jae-hee reports.
Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro says he will reject the 20 million U.S. dollars in emergency aid offered by the G7 unless he gets an apology from his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron.
The French leader has previously accused Bolsonaro of "lying" about fighting climate change.
Bolsonaro has called the G7's gesture of aid "colonialist," suggesting the money should be used instead to reforest Europe.
However, Brazil did accept 12 million dollars of aid from Britain, and firefighting troops from Israel.
It's also agreed to forge a pact with other nearby countries such as Peru, Venezuela and Colombia.
Brazil's space agency says there have been more than 75-thousand fires in Brazil this year, the highest since 2013.
These have released some 228 megatons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, the most from the Amazon since 2010.
