President Moon Jae-in has put his money where his mouth is and has newly invested in an equity fund that invests in Korean companies that might benefit from government support to deal with Japan's trade restrictions on Korea.
Launched earlier this month, it's known as the NH-Amundi Victorious Korea Equity Fund,... and it donates half of its performance fees to South Korean firms in the materials and parts sector,... especially those affected by Japan's export curbs.
The South Korean government is trying to help these companies so that Korea becomes more self sufficient in those sectors.
Moon is the first South Korean president to have publicly invested in financial instruments during his term in office.
