And in some welcome news for women,... starting from December,... South Korea's national health insurance will cover ultrasound scans on ovaries and the uterus.
The health ministry says it will include the two examinations within the range of subsidized medical procedures,... reducing the burden for female patients.
Costs for pelvic ultrasounds are currently paid in full by the patient.
The government has been aiming to reduce the cost of medical care for major diseases and conditions since August 2017,... as part of the so-called Moon-care agenda.
