Meanwhile, UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres is calling on South Korea and Japan to mend ties after Seoul scrapped a military intelligence-sharing pact with Tokyo in the aftermath of their trade and wartime disputes.
Speaking to reporters on Friday ahead of an overseas trip that includes a stop in Tokyo, Guterres said he hopes the two countries can solve whatever difficulties exist in their relationship, adding that South Korea and Japan are "very important pillars of stability and development" in the region.
