Japan's immigration office says the number of South Korean tourists coming to the country for short visits dropped significantly this summer.
From August 9 to the 18th, just 12-thousand South Koreans entered Japan through Narita Airport, which is a 35 percent decrease from the same period last year.
The immigration office attributed the sudden drop to the downturn in the countries' relations.
South Koreans have been boycotting Japanese products and tourism since early last month.
