U.S. State Department offers no more details on Biegun's trip to S. Korea
  • 5 years ago
The U.S. State Department has confirmed there are NO additional meetings or visits to announce for U.S. Special Representative for North Korea, Stephen Biegun, for the remainder of his time in South Korea.
The statement comes as there had been speculation about a possible meeting with North Korean officials during Biegun's stay in the South.
He is due to leave Seoul on Thursday.
North Korea and the U.S. agreed in June to restart working-level talks,... but they have yet to take place due to renewed tensions on the Korean Peninsula.
