South Korea will strengthen safety inspections on food imported from Fukushima over concerns about radioactive contamination.
The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety says that, from Friday, it will double the number of inspections on imported food from the area that have contained elevated levels of radiation in the past.
The ministry plans to analyze inspections from the past five years and double-check items that have been sent back due to contamination.
A total of 17 items will be checked, including ten processed foods and three agricultural products.
