Typhoon Lekima leaves at least 28 dead in China, expected to drench Jeju Island

With Typhoon Lekima moving closer to the Korean Peninsula,... a heavy rain warning has been issued in the southernmost island province of Jeju on Sunday,... as strong winds and showers are expected to sweep in.
While Lekima is not forecast to make landfall on the Korean Peninsula,... the country's weather agency says... as much as 250 millimeters of rain could fall on Jeju Island until Monday afternoon.
A strong wind advisory has also been issued on the island,... with high tides expected along the southern coast.
The storm,... which developed into a super typhoon on Thursday, triggered a landslide in China as well as damaging properties and causing flooding in its wake.
The storm has reportedly killed at least 28 people,... after it made landfall on Saturday in the city of Wenling.
Lekima is expected to move further up the Chinese mainland over the next few days.
