Excessive alcohol consumption can lead to dehydration on hot summer days: Experts
  • 5 years ago
A couple of ice cold glasses of beer may sound perfect on a hot summer day like today, …but experts warn that alcohol can cause drinkers to dehydrate more easily in the heat.
They say excessive alcohol consumption is a bad idea during the summer… as alcohol causes you to urinate more often and you lose more water through sweat.
So you can make you lose fluids twice as quickly as normal.
The hot weather also increases the effects of alcohol and can aggravate cardiovascular problems in people with high blood pressure.
If you have to, drinking plenty of water before, during and after consuming alcohol is advised, especially during the summer.
