Top ministers urge N. Korea to halt actions that hurt efforts to ease military tensions
  • 5 years ago
Over at the presidential office... senior officials have voiced strong concerns over the North's launch of short-range projectiles,... and urged it to halt such actions that hamper efforts to ease military tensions on the Korean Peninsula.
This is from a meeting at the Blue House shortly after North Korea's launch,... chaired by security chief Chung Eui-yong,... and joined by the heads of the defense ministry and intelligence agency.
It was not a National Security Council meeting.
Blue House Spokesperson Ko Min-jung said,... South Korea and the U.S. believe today's projectiles are similar to the ones fired on Wednesday.
They see them highly likely to be a new type of short-range ballistic missiles,... but will finalize their assessment after further analysis.
