Hong Kong police have moved to forcefully clear protesters, with riot shields and tear gas.

Rubber bullets have reportedly also been fired in the clashes in the Sai Wan area, near the China Liaison Office -- seen as a symbol of Beijing's rule over the territory.

Protesters in the Causeway Bay area of Hong Kong are also being cleared by police.

It is the latest in two months of demonstrations against mainland China's power over the city.
