Video filmed in Hong Kong on Monday (November 11) shows litter scattered on the ground hours after a protester was shot by a police officer.

Dozens of polystyrene foam boxes and other junk were scattered around the intersection at Sain Wan Ho district following the unrest.

Earlier this morning (November 11), the shooting incident was broadcast live on Facebook showing a traffic policeman trying to detain a masked protester.

Another masked man approached the officer and was then shot in the chest area. The man survived but is in critical condition in hospital.

Protesters created the roadblocks to close the crime scene before police officers took control of the area. The boxes were from a nearby market ransacked by the demonstrators.

The violence has been ongoing for 24 weeks, with Hong Kong residents demanding more independence from oppressive mainland China.
