Japan's upper house election begins on Sunday

Japan is holding an election today for the upper house of its legislature, the House of Councillors.
Half of the body's 248 seats are up for grabs,... as they are every three years.
Prime Minister Shinzo Abe wants his party and its allies to win a two-thirds majority so they can amend the consitution's provisions on the military.
A good result for Abe will likely encourage the administration to step up its policies against South Korea, like its recent export curbs.
The exit poll will be announced shortly after the ballots close at 8 p.m.
