Seoul's top envoy says N. Korea-U.S. working-level negotiations will restart soon
  • 5 years ago
We just heard from the report that we'll have to wait and see when the Pyeongyang-Washington talks resume,... but South Korea's top nuclear chief seems to be more hopeful.
After meeting his U.S. counterpart Stephen Biegun in Berlin,... Seoul's Special Representative for Korean Peninsula Peace and Security Affairs, Lee Do-hoon returned home early this morning.
At the airport, he told reporters that North Korea and the U.S. are exchanging contact,... and that he believes working-level negotiations will begin when their differences are narrowed down.
He added that U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said the talks will be held sometime in the middle of this month, as agreed by North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and President Donald Trump.
