Expert's take: Dr. Mark P. Barry on historic Trump, Kim meeting at DMZ
For an expert's take on a remarkable weekend, we are joined on Skype by Doctor Mark P. Barry, independent Asian affairs analyst who has followed North Korea-U.S. relations for the past three decades.

Doctor Barry, what was your reaction to what we all saw at the DMZ: President Trump crossing the border into North Korea, Kim and Trump smiling and cracking jokes, the leaders of the two Korea and Trump together… but did this impromptu meeting mean something more... or was it just theater?

What a lot of people noticed on Sunday was that President Trump didn't use the word "denuclearization" once in public on Sunday. Do you think the U.S. now accepts the North won't give up their nuclear weapons-slash-ticket to survival... and a middle ground is emerging that both sides can be happy with?

President Trump seemed to suggest the U.S. could look into lifting sanctions during the denuclearization negotiations in return for progress. Do you think that would be a good idea?

Finally, what did you make of Trump's offer for the North Korean leader to visit the White House?

Thank you for you insights. Doctor Mark P. Barry, pleasure having you on. We appreciate your time.
