Our Kan Hyeong-woo starts us off.
North Korean leader Kim Jong-un is purportedly reading a letter... from U.S. President Donald Trump.
The Korean Central News Agency, Pyeongyang's state media,... reported on Sunday that Kim had received a personal letter from Trump... with this image to prove it.
According to the report,... the North Korean leader was very satisfied with the letter... saying it had "excellent content".
Adding that he appreciates Trump's political acumen and extraordinary courage,... Kim said he would take some time to reflect on what was said in the letter,... which he said was "interesting".
The KCNA did not reveal when or how the letter was delivered to Kim.
Earlier this month,... Trump said he received a personal letter of his own from Kim,... describing it as "beautiful" and "very warm."
"We have a very good relationship together. Now I can get it, because of the letter I got yesterday, and I think you know I think that something will happen that's going to be very positive."
Talks between Pyeongyang and Washington still appears to be stuck in limbo however,... since the Hanoi summit in February ended without an agreement.
The two sides were not able to see eye-to-eye... on sanctions relief, as well as the scope and timeline of North Korea's denuclearization,... a gap which has lingered ever since.
While it remains to be seen whether the exchange of letters between Kim and Trump... could lead to fresh talks between Pyeongyang and Washington, North Korea will surely be on President Trump's mind when he visits South Korea at the end of June.
