Amid the ongoing trade spat between Washington and Beijing, Apple is reportedly looking into moving some of its manufacturing out of China and restructuring its supply chain.
According to Japan's business journal, the Nikkei Asian Review on Wednesday, the tech giant has asked its major suppliers to assess the cost implications of moving 15 to 30 percent of their production capacity from China to Southeast Asia.
The journal adds... although this move comes after a lengthy trade war between the world's biggest economies, Apple will not reverse the move even if tensions ease in the future.
Citing sources, the Nikkei reports... growing risks from heavy dependence on manufacturing in China have led Apple to consider such option.
