The top diplomats of South Korea and Russia held talks in Moscow on Monday to evaluate progress made on the bilateral agreements sealed by their leaders last year.
Seoul's Foreign Affairs Ministry says Kang Kyung-wha and Sergei Lavrov expressed satisfaction about the frequent meetings between their high-level officials and the sharp uptick in general people-to-people exchanges.
They also pledged to cooperate more on shipbuilding, education and seven other areas,... while working towards a free trade deal on the service and investment sectors.
They also agreed that now is the time to establish lasting peace on the Korean Peninsula, adding that North Korea and the U.S. need to resume talks soon to achieve the regime's denuclearization.
Kang also held talks with the Kremlin's foreign affairs advisor Yuri Ushakov.
