저소득 구직자에 50만원씩 최장 6개월 지원…내년 7월 시행

The South Korean government will provide subsidies for job seekers in the low-income bracket as they look for work.
The government's plan calls for monthly payments of 500-thousand won,... or roughly 4-hundred-23 U.S. dollars,.... for a maximum of six months.
Eligible are people aged 18 to 64 who earn less than 50 percent of the median income,... and who have been employed for at least six months in the two years before the date they apply.
The government hopes to implement the scheme from July next year,... and have related bills passed during the National Assembly's regular session, which starts in September.
The government expects the program to benefit some 350-thousand people next year and 600-thousand by 2022.
It says this is part of efforts to foster a so-called employment safety net... in line with the government's broader goal of building an inclusive nation in which everyone prospers.
