The defense chiefs of South Korea and the U.S. held talks today in Seoul following their trilateral meeting in Singapore over the weekend.
The two have made some major agreements regarding the future of South Korea-U.S. combined military operations.

The future joint command... following an envisioned transfer of wartime operational control from Washington to Seoul... is to be led by a four-star South Korean general... a post separate from the existing ROK-U.S. Combined Forces Command, currently led by a four-star American general.
Seoul's defense ministry on Monday released the results of the talks held between Defense Minister Jeong Kyeong-doo and Acting U.S. Defense Secretary Patrick Shanahan.
They've also agreed to move the Combined Forces Command headquarters, currently in Seoul, south... to Camp Humphreys in Pyeongtaek,... reversing last year's plan to keep it in the Korean capital.
The relocation decision took into account factors such as operational requirements, transfer costs and time.
"When I think of alliance the word that comes to mind is trust, incredible trust between our countries which was forged in combat nearly 70 years ago that trust endures this day. This is also apparent in the tremendous strides the Combined Forces Command is taking to more rapidly fulfill conditions to transition the wartime operational control from a U.S. commander to a South Korean commander."
In a meeting between President Moon Jae-in and Shanahan,... the president stressed the importance of the alliance in the peace process that aims to achieve complete denuclearization of the Korean peninsula and everlasting peace in the region through dialogue.
The Blue House said the president asked for U.S. cooperation in Seoul's efforts to provide humanitarian and food aid to North Korea and in holding reunions of families separated by the Korean War.
President Moon stressed easing military tensions by improving inter-Korean relations contributes to the denuclearization talks.
In response, Shanahan said he believes in the iron-clad alliance that a strong combined defense readiness supports diplomatic efforts for a peaceful resolution concerning the peninsula.
Before the defense chiefs' meeting, Shanahan reiterated that the alliance serves as a "linchpin" for peace and security in the region.
"The defense chiefs said the two allies will continue to monitor the challenges North Korea poses to mutual safety... and that the combined forces are united in enforcing sanctions against Pyeongyang until the regime complies with its international obligations.
