北 때문에 껐던 연평도 등대, 45년만에 재점식

A lighthouse relighting ceremony was held on Yeonpyeong-do island.
It symbolizes hope for improvement in inter-Korean relations.
Some 60 people gathered to witness the near 10-meter-high lighthouse flash as its turned in a circle once every 15 seconds... to ensure the safety of ships fishing and cruising near the island's waters.
The beacon was turned off during the 1970s when tensions between the two Koreas were high... but with the ceremony... it will once again shine a light out to the ocean.
The island is located near the disputed maritime demarcation line in the West Sea... where the two Koreas agreed in September to establish a shared fishing ground.
