As trade tensions between the world's two superpowers escalate,... U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin is likely to travel to Beijing soon.... to continue trade talks with his Chinese counterparts,... as President Trump is also expected to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping next month at the G20 summit.
At a congressional hearing on Wednesday,... Mnuchin said,.... the latest discussions with Chinese officials in Washington were constructive,... but there was still a lot of work to do to reach a deal.
Although he didn't say exactly *when he will be traveling to China... he did say, U.S. negotiators are most likely go to Beijing at (quote) "some point in the near future."
Mnuchin has led trade negotiations with China.... alongside U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer.
