Doris Day, Hollywood movie star of 50 and '60s dies at age of 97

Doris Day, the American singer turned actress and animal welfare activist, has died at the age of 97.
Day was known for a string of successful hits... musicals to romantic comedies, including "Que Sera, Sera" that won an Oscar for Best Original Song in 1956... and her starring roles in movies such as Pillow Talk and Calamity Jane.
Her popularity peaked co-starring with Rock Hudson.
The Doris Day Animal Foundation confirmed the Hollywood legend died on Monday at her home in California.
She was said to have been surrounded by a few close friends as she passed.
