U.S. likely to remove S. Korea from watchlist on currency manipulation: report
  • 5 years ago
Bloomberg reported Thursday that the U.S. Treasury Department is likely to take South Korea off its currency manipulation watchlist.
Citing people familiar with the matter, Bloomberg said the number of countries on the list will jump to twenty from twelve in the report issued last October.
But it says those 20 countries won't include South Korea, which was on both of the lists the treasury department released last year.
Bloomberg noted Vietnam may be named a currency manipulator for artificially holding down the value of its currency.
