In response,... the government says North Korea's test-fire violates the military agreement signed between the two Koreas in Pyeongyang last September,... and called on the regime to suspend activities that escalate military tensions on the Korean Peninsula.
This came during a Blue House emergency meeting to monitor the situation,... chaired by national security advisor Chung Eui-yong,... with National Intelligence Service chief Suh Hoon, and Defense Minister Jeong Kyeong-doo in attendance.
According to a Blue House Spokesperson,... South Korea will continue to coordinate closely with the U.S., as well as other neighboring countries to monitor the situation.
The presidential office also called for efforts to resume denuclearization talks,... which has hit an impasse in recent months.
