A Vietnamese woman accused of killing Kim Jong-nam, the half-brother of Kim Jong-un in 2017, has been released.
According to Malaysian media, Doan Thi Huong returned to Vietnam on Friday afternoon after being imprisoned in Malaysia for the past two years.
Huong and her co-defendant Siti Aisyah had been detained after they were accused of killing Kim Jong-nam by smearing a lethal nerve agent on his face as he entered a Malaysian airport.
The two claimed they were tricked by four North Korean men into believing that they were taking part in a reality TV prank.
Huong's release came a month after prosecutors downgraded her murder charges to "causing injury," and about two months since her co-defendant was released.
