Samsung Electronics to invest $116 billion in logic chips by 2030

Samsung Electronics says it will invest a total of 116 billion U.S. dollars in its logic chip business through 2030.
That's nearly six times what the firm currently invests... in total... on a yearly average.
A little over half of that will be allocated to R&D in logic chips, and the rest will be used for production.
The announcement comes as Samsung strengthens non-memory semiconductor businesses, such as foundry, to become the world leader in not only memory semiconductors but also logic chips.
Also during that time, it aims to create 15,000 production and research jobs.
