Meanwhile, the South Korean government has summoned a senior Japanese Embassy official in Seoul to lodge a complaint against Tokyo's most recent claims South Korea's eastern-most islets.
Seoul's foreign ministry on Tuesday made the complaint following the release of Japan's "Diplomatic Bluebook," which contained the false claims.
The ministry also raised the issues of Japan's sexual enslavement of South Korean women and the forced labor of Koreans during Japan's colonial rule.
During a press briefing, a ministry spokesperson demanded Tokyo withdraw its claims over Dokdo, stating that it is "South Korean territory historically, geographically and based on international law."
