UN Command approves civilian access to DMZ trail in Goseong

The United Nations Command has approved the opening of hiking trails leading to the Demilitarized Zone,... marking the first time the D-M-Z will be accessible to civilians since the two Koreas have been divided.
The commander of U.S. Forces Korea, Robert Abrams who also leads the UN Command... said Tuesday it has approved the initial phase of South Korea's "Peace Trail" project... at the inter-Korean border town of Goseong, Gangwon-do province.
Other hiking trails leading up to the DMZ are in Cheorwon and Paju... which have yet to be approved by the UN Command to ensure visitors' safety.
