Researchers at Yale University restore brain cell activity of pigs killed hours earlier

A controversial experiment has some experts questioning what it means to be "alive",... as scientists at Yale University have successfully restored the brain cell activity of pigs,... which were killed hours earlier.
Using the experimental system called BrainEx,... researchers used pig brains from a pork processing plant and pumped a blood-substitution fluid carrying nutrients and oxygen,... as well as stabilizing compounds and activity blockers into each brain's main arteries.
This resulted in reduced cell death,.. and restored blood vessel structure and circulatory function.
Scientists, however, say it cannot yet be applied to humans,... as the experimented pig brains aren't technically living nor functional,... just cellularly active.
