Life & Info: Too much trans fat while pregnant linked to increased risk of child having food allergy
- 5 years ago
Eating too many snacks with sugar and fat can increase the risk of having a child with food allergies.
Combined research by Seoul's Asan Medical Center and Severance Hospital surveyed the snacking patterns of 16-hundred mothers and analysed their babies' umbilical cord blood.
The researchers found that snacks like bread, ice cream and chocolate increased the risk of food allergies in babies by one-point-51 times.
They pointed to the influence of high trans fat intake, …adding that food allergies in children involve both genetic and environmental factors.
