Trump says U.S. "always talking about long term" when asked about defense agreement with Seoul

The leaders of South Korea and the U.S. also touched upon the issue of their cost-sharing agreement for the stationing of American troops in South Korea.
Asked whether he's considering a long term agreement on defense spending instead of the current one-year deal, President Trump said they are "talking about long term".
He hailed America's extraordinary relationship with South Korea, saying Washington is always "thinking in terms of long term with Seoul".
However, it's unclear whether Trump meant to lengthen the validity period of their next defense agreement, since he previously insisted on a one-year deal over a five-year agreement.
The allies agreed earlier this year to increase Seoul's share of defense spending by 8.2 percent to some 920 million U.S. dollars.
