FDI in S. Korea drops 35.7% for 1Q of 2019 due to global falling trend

The amount of foreign direct investment into South Korea fell sharply in the first quarter of this year.
The trade ministry says FDI was down more than 35 percent on-year to to 3-point-2 billion U.S. dollars.
By sector, the services saw the biggest drop of 42-and-a-half percent..., mainly on falling investment in property.
FDI has been falling globally because of risks such as the U.S.-China trade war and slow economic growth.
But the FDI Korea is getting... is apparently expanding into new industries.
The trade ministry said it's flowing into advanced materials, next-generation communications, nanotech and ceramics.
