Also today, ahead of the 100th anniversary of the establishment of Korea's provisional government,... the remains of three Korean independence fighters who led movements abroad against Japanese colonial rule... were returned to Korean soil.
"We need to remember the sacrifices of our patriots and open the door for the next 100 years. We have so far, received remains of 139 fighters since the liberation in 1946, but we still have a lot more to bring back."
South Korean Prime Minister Lee Nak-yon during the return ceremony held at Incheon Airport today, expressed respect and gratitude towards those who sacrificed their lives for Korea's liberation.
The Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs said the remains were those of independence fighters Lee Jae-soo, Kim Tae-yeon and Kang Young-gak... returned from California, Shanghai and Hawaii respectively.
