In an effort to implement UN sanctions on North Korea, Moscow is reporting that it has slashed -- by a third -- the number of North Koreans working in Russia.
In its implementation report of Resolution 23-97, that was uploaded on the UN Security Council's website recently,... Russia says the number of North Koreans with valid work permits in Russia was just eleven-and-a-half-thousand at the end of 2018,... down from 30-thousand at the end of 2017.
The resolution, adopted in late 2017 following a North Korean missile launch,... compels member states to return all North Korean laborers working within their borders within two years,... that is by the end of this year.
Germany also submitted its implementation report.
It said out of 862 North Korean nationals in Germany as of the end of 2018, 46 are obligated to leave, while the rest have legal residency.
