President Moon Jae-in has declared a special disaster zone for the areas hit by the massive forest fire that swept across the northern regions of the country.
The designation covers a total of five cities and counties in Gangwon-do Province,… including Goseong and Sokcho.
The presidential office says all areas of the government will support efforts for recovery and restoration.
The fire broke out on Thursday night,... burning hundreds of homes and facilities,... and forcing some 4-thousand people to evacuate. The government has declared the fire a national disaster.
