S. Korea begins recovering Korean War remains within DMZ, without N. Korea
  • 5 years ago
South Korea has begun to recover the remains of soldiers killed during the Korean War within the DMZ on Monday...without the North's participation.
This comes after the defense chiefs of the two Koreas signed a comprehensive military agreement last September...aimed at reducing military tensions.
Although the two sides back then said they will jointly recover the remains in April as a pilot program, South Korea's military sources say...they weren't able to get a response from the North on the matter.
Sources added the South has begun the process at Arrowhead Hill, the site of one of the fiercest battles during the war.
