Work to connect two Koreas by road begins at Arrowhead Hill in DMZ

Work by the South Korean Army's engineering unit to connect the two Koreas by road has started in the Demilitarized Zone.
Once complete, it will be the first road connecting the two sides in the region of Cheorwon , Gangwon-do Province,.. since 1953,... when the Korean War Armistice Agreement was signed.
The 12-meter-wide road for military use will be about one-point-seven kilometer-long.
The road is located on Arrowhead Hill,... one of the fiercest battlefields of the Korean War.
It will be used for an inter-Korean project to recover war remains starting April next year, and the area is currently being cleared of landmines.
The two sides are planning to complete the demining process by the end of this month.
The project is part of the comprehensive military agreement between the two Koreas, signed at September's inter-Korean summit.
