Government to use extra budget to support quake-hit Pohang

The South Korean government will be drawing up a supplementary budget to provide support for the city of Pohang... which was hit about a year and a half ago by an earthquake.
The decision was reached on Friday... during a three-way between the ruling Democratic Party,... government and the presidential office.
The government is expected to submit an extra budget bill to the National Assembly in April at the earliest,... which will also include a chunk to fight the country's fine-dust air pollution.
In November 2017, a magitude 5-point-4 quake hit Pohang,... leaving dozens of people injured and thousands of homes damaged.
The three sides also agreed to push to enact a special law to designate the quake as a special disaster,... stipulate support measures and provide for fact-finding.
They are also seeking to create a special parliamentary committee, made up of lawmakers from multiple parties, to deal with the quake's aftermath.
